EPCOR Power L.P. announces new director
EDMONTON, Alberta - January 24, 2006 - Don Lowry, Chairman of the Board for EPCOR Power Services Ltd., the General Partner for EPCOR Power L.P. (TSX: EP.UN) ("the Partnership"), is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Rod Wimer of Bend, Oregon, as an independent director on the General Partner's Board of Directors.
Mr. Wimer is the Managing Director of Mazama Capital Partners LLC, a private investment and asset management company located in Bend, Oregon and is also a General Partner and Director of the Houston-based energy company Fulcrum Power Services L.P. Mr. Wimer was previously the President and CEO of Dynegy Canada Inc., and has held senior positions with Phillips Petroleum Company and Portland General Electric Company. He also serves as a Director of Calgary-based Fairborne Energy Trust.
"Rod brings to the Partnership's Board more than 30 years of experience in the energy and utilities markets," said Mr. Lowry. "His knowledge of the North American energy marketplace will be tremendously valuable as the Partnership continues to assess opportunities for growth which are consistent with the Partnership's risk profile."
The Board of Directors of the General Partner consists of eight individuals, of whom four are independent of EPCOR.
